Harlequin

This pattern is a classic Harlequin design, with an elongated diamond - often used in traditional floorcloth making.

This floorcloth employs cream and black for the diamonds - probably the most common colorway for this pattern and its cousin, the checkerboard.  The use of a narrow gold band inside the black border adds a nice bit of detail to this classic presentation.
